After some difficulties this year on Summer Camps, we have set out sights on raising funds for a new scout minibus, to replace our current silver one. We have been busy working hard with our Bingo and other activities, as well as some of our wonderful volunteers applying for grants on our behalf.
We are over the moon to say that just this week we have received a very kind cheque from Soroptimists International, Blackpool & District branch. Their aim is to achieve a world where women and girls together achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong, peaceful communities worldwide. We currently have a growing number of female members and leaders across our sections, all of which partake in the exact same activities as their male counterparts, working towards our Scouting vision. The Soroptimists’ very generous donation has really helped all of our members get out and about and achieve a full and active programme. Thankyou so much for such a fantastic help towards our goal.
We are so so lucky to have been able to recently buy a brand new Rescue boat and Canoe. We purchased these ready for the Summer season of scouting to enable us to partake in more water activities. The canoe is primarily for the younger children in our group, to build up their confidence in the water, and to ensure complete inclusion for all members in our scouting activities. These purchases could not have been possible without the kind donation from ‘Fyldes community project fund’. We can not thank them enough for their generosity and hard work to help groups like us to thrive and do our best for all members.
